Using Sprout

Sprout is a personal study tracker operated by Oliver Wells, trading as Sprout. Contact hello@sproutstudy.app. Postal address available on request by email. These terms and purchases are provided in English.

You must be 13 or older to create an account. Purchases must be made by an adult aged 18 or over. If you are younger, ask an adult to handle a purchase with you. Keep your password private, use an email address you control and contact us if someone accesses your account without permission.

You keep ownership of your study content. You give us permission to store and process it only to operate the service, as explained in the privacy policy. Do not upload unlawful material, use other people’s accounts, interfere with the service or attempt to bypass access or payment controls.

Free and Plus

Free includes the core study timer, history, goals, study priorities and garden. Plus adds bonus study XP, a weekly Plus freeze, a daily challenge, extra garden styles, fitted planning tools, insights and reports. The Plus page describes the current features and reward conditions.

Monthly Plus costs £3 per month and automatically renews until cancelled. Lifetime Plus costs £29 once, with no recurring charge, for access while Sprout operates. Lifetime describes the service’s operating lifetime; it is not a promise of perpetual hosting or of every future product. Prices are in GBP; the advertised total is shown again before payment. There is no physical delivery.

Choose a plan in Sprout, review the order on Stripe and correct any errors or return before paying. Your payment obligation arises when you confirm payment in Stripe checkout. Access starts after successful payment confirmation. A failed or pending payment does not guarantee access. Payment information and purchase confirmation are provided through Stripe and the app; contact us if your confirmation is missing.

If monthly Plus ends, Free remains available, along with your study records and earned progress. Plus tools and new Plus rewards require active membership. A Plus freeze resets weekly and does not stack; challenge-earned freezes remain separate. Saved preferences may be retained for use if you return.

Cancelling and refunds

Cancel monthly renewal through Me → Sprout Plus → Manage billing, or email us. An ordinary renewal cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and access continues until then. Deleting your account cancels recurring billing before account removal. It does not itself request a refund.

You retain applicable statutory cancellation and refund rights. For a new consumer distance contract, a 14-day cancellation period normally applies, subject to the legal rules for the service or content supplied. Requesting immediate access here does not waive that right. If you want to exercise it, email us within that period, identifying your account, the purchase date and which plan you want to cancel. You do not need to use special wording. We will explain any lawful deduction for services already supplied where applicable. Ordinary renewal cancellation and statutory withdrawal are different; contact us if unsure.

You can use this cancellation message: “I give notice that I cancel my Sprout Plus contract. Account email: … Plan: … Ordered on: … Name: … Date: …”. Refunds due under consumer law will be made within the applicable deadline, normally using the original payment method. Your statutory rights concerning faulty, misdescribed or unsupplied services remain unaffected. Contact us for help before paying again if a payment has been refunded or disputed.

Availability and fair changes

Sprout needs a supported browser and an internet connection for account sync and payments. Offline timer actions require later synchronisation; background notification delivery depends on your browser, device and settings. Back up important notes using export. Study suggestions and progress rewards are tools, not professional advice or a guarantee of grades. Choose a healthy pace and take breaks.

We will use reasonable care and skill. Maintenance and faults can interrupt the service. We may make reasonable security and feature improvements; material paid-service or price changes will be explained in advance, including your cancellation options. A monthly price change will not be applied retrospectively. If we permanently discontinue a paid service, we will provide reasonable notice and any remedy required by law. We may restrict accounts for serious abuse, explaining the reason and offering a way to challenge it unless doing so would compromise security or law enforcement.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including consumer statutory rights, fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. We do not exclude responsibility for failing to provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Contact us first about a complaint; you retain access to the courts and the mandatory consumer protections applicable where you live.
